View Full Version : New Challenge anyone? With a prize?
Nichod 03-24-2006, 10:26 PM I was thinking of buying this (http://www.eggprops.com/catalog/category_261_messiahInstructional_Videos.html) and supplying it as the prize to the person who completes the next challenge with the proper amount of finesse. And demonstrates how they went about doing it to everyone. A learning challenge of sorts. What does everyone think?
Up for the chance to win a prize? We need some good challenge ideas this time. Particles maybe? Really I think the best idea would be something that could produce some visually stunning examples of what messiah can do.

*bump!*
No one want to win a prize? Wegg said he'd provide it free of charge. So lets here some ideas and flesh the challenge out.

sounds like a great idea :D
course i already have the video lol :P but i'd do it anyway..assuming i can balance it with my current workload. i really wanted to do the last on, but ran out of time to fit it in :(
so i'll try for this one.
how about a short 10 sec sound clip and people animate to the sound clip? like for the ten second club. yeah not very original, but i've always wanted to do that :p

A challenge would be nice !:bounce:
I would vote for something based on the new particle stuff, like producing realistic fire or smoke, liquids etc.

Great. So lets require the use of particles. And focus on a theme. Disaster sounds like a good theme. I can see many uses of particles. Asteroid heading towards earth, building on fire, etc.
Time frame? I say a month is good. Gives time to do something detailed. I'd like to see some full on rendered images showcasing Messiah.
Should it be still or animated? Or both?

I'd personally rather not do particles...
not my strength in any software and here, without documentation...
I'd prefer a shading / lighting challenge.

How about requiring the use of one of the new features in 2.4, which includes translucency, particles, etc.?
