View Full Version : Smells.like.fish.wip
[3DgUrU] 12-22-2002, 01:15 PM Well this is it, only joined a week ago to this forum, so here goes my first wip. A small fishy Im currently experimenting with, just finished the modelling. Currently working on the textures and just finished a tail to root expression that allows the root speed and direction to control the tail movement, would like to get some feedback on it so far.

No mouth on this model, wasnt planed, but could be done in the future.
its not intended for close head shots, more full body movements, but if it does turn to close head shots ill make a mouth and add some further detail to the head.

Pikachu + the worm dudes + something i never wanna find on my dinner plate :p
I like it. The texture's great. Gives me the impression of tropical fish from some alien planet. Would be fun to see it textured for a more deep-sea location too! (greys and blues and such)
The only thing i even want to bother you with is the lighting for the textured render. It may just be my monitor, but his neck and upper head are practically glowing, which kills off the details you've modeled into that area.
Otherwise, once again, great model, and welcome to CGtalk!

Thanks for the comments, yeah I havent textured the fin or the head yet so that glow is just the yellow bg color. when I get the head and the rest of the bits that are missing Ill post again
I like the idea of deep see fish textures , with the dark blue and grey ill try that out as well and post it later.
Yup tropical cross between a shallow water fish & a shrimp, cant figure out a name for it though :)
