hi all

i have a prob with render to textures... i have a box with flipped normals divised in 4*4 segments, each poly on the ground use a different material then all polys at the bottom sides use some tiling textures and some specific ones too to localise details, the top side use a tiling texture and the very top of the box use the same tilable texture as the top sides.
i want to bake the lightning of this box, any way to do that? capture the light on all the faces and display the lightmaps on a specific ID?

I know what you mean but max dosen't have a bake option. Since it is just a box you could just hide all but the current side to be baked and render parrelel to it and then use the result as a map. If you did this to each side you would get the same results it would just take a long time.

woops I did not realize until now that V 5 allows that. Sorry I guess I'm no help

it's ok i found how =)

just have to redo all my mapping and use mapping channels (couldn(t have been easier with IDs? or an option for id OR channel?)

Now i just have to manage the endless crashes... could this be also an option? ;)

huurr in fact a way to just change the UV mapping channel would be a definite time saver...

anyone know how to do that???
