Hey guys, watched JP and got inspired to Model a Raptor. Right now its all Nurbs Patches, Its hard to model without any real good references, so if you know of any please let me know. I am not very far yet, I have spent about 1 hour modeling so far. Let me know what you think, Its still in the very very early stages, I haven't cleaned it up at all yet, just used boundy on all of my curves to see what it looks like. This is my first attempt at organic Modeling. Thanks,
Brian
This is being modeled in Maya.

Hey guys, this is the botom, sorry about the crapy lighting, I will change that on my next update, Spent alot of time on trying to make it look like skin, but I have no idea what the "real" muscle structure is" so Just trying to wing it with the few references that I have (including the movie) thanks,
Brian

This is lookin real good inspired me to finish mine! One question, what prog are u using cos I'm curious why you've got those little black lines in the model, and it does look a little bumpy, in fact it kinda looks like its made from soft cardboard - if u get what I mean. No insult just kinda strange look. Nevermind - read ur first post - should have done that first duh!

Wow. Someone is actually using patches. That's front page news! LOL.

I gotta hand it to you, you've got patience. After the rise of SUB-D, I thought I'd never see another patch model. If it get to be too much, you can always switch...

Looks really nice. I'm not goin to comment on the lack of detail, as, well, this is a patch model. You're lucky it works at all. :D

Anyway, looking very nice. Keep at it!

Lol yeah, I know Patches :scream: but, I have never used sub d's so thought I would stick with this for now... I am modeling this in Maya, Its dark around the arms because I haven't made the hole for the arm on the torso, so it made a wierd shadow. I am almost done with the rest of the torso. :p so I will post that in a little bit. Thanks for all of the replies.

Now I am really starting to run into some problems... Well, now I have all of these nurbs patches, I was thinking maybe I could convert them to Poly's and then I could finnish details and clean it up a bit... but.. there are so many patches! :) any sugestions?

The velociraptor is a predator, so you must put claws in its fingers.
It is good anyway.
