Did you use global illumination? How many light sources? Render time? Subsurface scattering? Great work!

AWESOME work.. very realistic.. the only crits I can come up with is that he should be wearing something else, that red sweater makes him looks just a little bit cozy, but just a little ;)
12-23-2002, 07:39 AM
Top job, but an ugly devil :p
Let's see how good the wires are:buttrock:

I still dont believe its not real ......
its too real ...
its just about the same level as that GURU in LOTR movie ....
its too real .... ...
AHHHH !!! I cant believe it !!!! ...
When can I do something like that ??!!!!
12-24-2002, 06:53 PM
I think it would look better if he had darker skin, and not the powdery face he has now.
12-25-2002, 08:34 AM
no nothing about orc's, but I just wanted to say that your choice of color ROCKS! I love it:thumbsup:
12-26-2002, 01:58 AM
It looks great, but i think his face is a little too clean. Post a shot with a few more battle scars and dirt. Other than that its a nice model!
12-27-2002, 12:22 AM
Other than having a bad teeth day and being overly ugly, that is a very well done model. Good job.
12-27-2002, 12:35 AM
Dirty him up a bit.Give us some wires.Nice work.:applause:
12-27-2002, 12:44 AM
Those sure are some UGLY teeth :surprised
From one orc maker to another - good job! :applause:
I do think that it could have done with a bit more detail though. Give him some dirt and dust encrusted into the wrinkles on his face, because I'm sure that characters like this don't bath all that often ;)
Nice lighting
I wonder how many LOTR style orc threads there are now on this forum....

very nice work

great work! The sss is really nice. I have struggled with sss in Brazil aswell. Please share you knowledge of it so far. I have found the thickness setting makes a fair difference, but I can't seem to make a material that is less dense than the current settings. Trying to get a smooth and overall sss lighting is difficult. atm the light falls away extremely fast, I can't get evenly lit thick objects. Not to mention the shallow and deeper level colours can really be frustrating to control. Cranking up the settings in the render controls improves the amount of light getting into the sss object, but still I have some awful problems getting it to do what I want it to do.
What sort of settings did you use? any specific tricks?
12-27-2002, 12:11 PM
hohoho the rendering is just amazing, keep on dude
