View Full Version : quicktime file to numeric data?
AloeDesign 03-23-2006, 04:47 PM hi, I am trying to link a quicktimefile.qt to drive the scale of an object, but when i do the colorR of the movie file -> scale.x of the geometry, the scale.X just says "inf." am I missing something?
thanks..

interesting concept but of course its a lot more difficult than that. First off you're going to need to break the quicktime to an iff image sequence. Then from the file in node break the r channel out slap it into an rgb>vector then use that vector ouput to drive the scale... you also might need something in there to control the transition from vector to the float scale value.

thanks for your response. I don't know that there is a rgb>vector node in maya? I tried file input ->"vector product" node but it still comes up with a result of zero regardless of color. I have also tried several different formats, including iff seq., with the same result.
