Hi ALL

I'm very new to composting etc, so please go easy on me ;-)

I'm trying to colour correct a short clip of an exercise. I was asked to change the colour of a helmet from yellow to white. I exported my clip from Premiere Pro as a filmstrip to CS2. I then just used the selective colour tool to strip the yellow from the different colour channels.

All is fine apart from a few nasty red highlights, the main problem is that cus I'v not masked off the helmet it has affected the whole video clip, so a lot of the yellow is missing from different areas. So how do I mask off the helmet without going through each still, which would take forever.

Plus I don't have After-Effects or any other comp software.

Any advice would help thank you in adv.

Since you have Premiere Pro, I would do it in there rather then Photoshop. You can roto and use that as a mask to CC something, so check that out.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm not sure what you mean? Even within Pro, I'm still going to have the problem of tracking the helmet. I've checked all the relevant keys etc, but they all apply the effect to the whole image.

Thanks ;-)

Just hand roto the helmet. First do keys for the 8's(every 8th frame), then go down to 4's, and farther down as needed depending on motion. Now use that roto to CC the helmet.
