whenever I go to add a jpeg/targa/whatever file to a surface in xsi the app stops responding. It doesn't matter what kind of picture it is, or onto what I'm trying to put it on, it always stops responding, I've tried applying it the 3 different ways that I know and the same thing happens again and again.

This is obviously not normal.

How big are your images? Do you have your paint program open at the same time (you could try closing it before importing). What is your graphic card and drivers?

Does it stops to the point where you have to kill XSI?

I had the same problem. XSI 1.5 worked fine but for XSI 2 I had to buy a new graphics card which solved the problem.
