just a few questions~
gonna be animated opening in-mod?
got a site up for your mod?

We're (http://www.fuzzywoto.org) starting our production phase for our UT2k3 mod (http://www.fuzzywoto.org/0004_Rthree/) as soon as the spring trimester starts up.
It'll be cool to see how one with weapons like that turns out!:bounce:

well actually we just started out making this mod. We will put up a site soon i guess and i dont really know about the animated intro.

Thats pretty cool, is it your own design? I've not seen a gun like it before.

I take it you haven't optimised it yet, as you'll be able to pull out a lot of your polys. Also, you don't really need to have the inset modelled in (edge that goes around the gun), you can get the same effect through textures, and it will remove quite alot more polys.
I would use these polys to round off the barrel of the gun and the handle of the case.

A bit more work and it will be a top-class model.

Any more info on what the mod is?

by 'animated opening' i meant when you select the weapon, will it be a suitcase that pops open to the gun form :)

also, out of curiousity, what'd you model that in (maya, max, etc)?

Right done.
I think you should work on quad polys you have on the plane surface. It is possible to get less triangles.

its a nice design and i like the model however it could be modelled with about 400-500 polys instead(and in games, polys count)

so what you mean is that it could be done with about 200-250 triangles. Which i have a hard time to believe.
