I'm putting this shot together for my introduction/logo animation for the begining of my demo reel and was wondering what you all thought. Thanks for all the help as always.

haha, that was pretty cool... I watched it a few times, looks good man! Did you think about maybe having the sign forward forward instead of leaning back on the logo.. I liked how the can got out of the shot, kinda wanna see the board not become a design element anymore as well...? :buttrock:
haha cool idea.
It all looks pretty good to me except you could maybe add a little more anticipation before he throws the sign. Nothing big, just have him lower the sign a little more before throwing it instead of just going straight into tossing it up.
great job :bounce:

I agree with Kpo. there should be a little more anticipation. I also feel i happens so suddendly, I didn't really have time to know what was going on, I had to rewind it. Maybe if the light source came from off screen and he would have time to look beyond and over to it. then by the time that the light smacks the letters into the sign the audience would know what was happening and his reaction of running away would make sense. but to me just looked a little too sudden, perhaps because the distance of the traveling light was so short. but I like the character though! cute!
I don't really like his sign though. I know you're looking for work but you don't want to seem desprate like a bum. Maybe have something like "Studio Work or Bust" or "Looking for Greatness". something that elevates your style or position. not all great animation positions are paid well or even paid at all. you gotta take what you can get to climb the ladder. Anything is good to start. Demand solid money when you're solid in the industry.
but again, great character! I like him!

plus, if u move the final position of the sign little off the logo, to show the "H" of SMITH little more clearly,
it's just a thought, I don't know if the others agree with that?
nice run at the end.
