View Full Version : Noisy renders?
pixel8studio 03-22-2006, 03:52 PM Might be a very beginner question, but I have a stone texture that I've applied to the diffusion and bump channels of my material. Everything looks great, but when I render it as an animation, the texture seems to look "noisy"...lots of dancing pixels. I have a simple camera move on it an nothing else. Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks in advance,
Ken

what sort of textures are you using? if theyre' procedural then you need to reduce the octaves and general resultion. you should also maybe up the mip/sat ammount if it's a bitmap, and as already suggested you may need to up your aa settings.
the issue is caused by the texture being too detailed by teh way. cinema can only sample a single point at a time, not an area of texture, the closest it can do is sample several points within a pixel (using aa and mip/sat) this helps reduce texture flicker.
