i have modelled the head of my character and i have also modelled his two arms.

i have merged them into one object, and i am now trying to snap the points from the arms to the points on the head,

i have the same number of points etc on the arms and head and they all fit, BUT when i try to snap one point to another point, it is shooting across the other side of my screen

any ideas as to what could be causing this?

i remember having the same problem in class, and i managed to fix it, but i forgot, and ive clicked almost everything button and option i can find to do with snapping but to no avail

can anyone shed any light on the matter http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v220/x_babycake_x/scream.gif i know its only a silly thing somewhere, its driving me crazy lol

any help would be greatly recieved, thank you in advance

Have you tried to use the tweak tool with merge vertices on ? Use a perspective viewport to drag the points on top of each other to merge them.

that is what i tried originally,

i have tried all viewports, swapped between the tweak component tool and move point tool but each do the same thing

what appears to be happening, is that the points when i try to snap them together "appear" to be snapping to the grid or "wherever they fall lol" instead of the points where i want them to snap, even if this was happening and i was able to move the point back to its original place this would be ok, however once they have snapped to wherever they decide to go lol, they cant be moved back again ??

however i have set my snapping options so that the points dont snap to the grid but snap to points, but its still kinda going a bit haywire :curious:

i shall never post another post in here until i am pro... i promise you this.. (or untili have spent at least 5 hours with a problem instead of only 3 and a half ROFL)

<clairey hangs her head in shame>

i did not freeze my model before snapping my points, after freezing my model, i am back on track <very VERY very embarrassed icon>

i dont believe i spent 3 and a half hours shouting at this pc... thank you for your time felipe, and i sincerely apologise for wasting others
