Well, as with all things Microsoft, I will wait a week or two before I consider installing the update, just to make sure that there are no problems created becuase of it.

heheh, do any of you guys actually have dx9 hardware? im still running a geforce2 gts, waiting in geforceFX to upgrade.

Are you saying Array that one would need the hardware to support DirectX 9?

yup....the only chip on the market right now that supports directX 9 is ATI's R300 which is implemented on the ATI 9500 and 9700 line of cards. when the geforceFX comes out, that will also be directX 9 compliant.

Well...its installed for when I get the FX...
I skipped the Geforce4s so the next up are the FX line.....

Not yet. I'm saving some money for a Radeon 9700 Pro. (I'm now running on a Matrox G450)
why not get a quadro for that kinda money? and or wait till february when the new range come out.
Well, that could be another possibility. I'm still looking for what's the best until I have the money available. I want some other things too (2nd TFT, DVD burner,....)
