I can only think 'Hair (http://maxon.net/pages/products/c4d/modules/hair/hair_e.html)' with you requests. It does that and sooo much more :D

I had to!
Grass made with Hair plugin for Cinema 4d. It's a bit rigid and there should be a bit more wind, but it gives you an idea of what Hair can do. On a second attempt I would try and give the grass a more flowing feel as it interacts with both wind and the collision with the ball.

DPIT Nature Spirit (http://www.dpit2.de) has some advanced grass tools for realistic grass.

StormTracer can do grass with dynamics and renders very fast.
If DPit has volumetric instancing working then it too can be a fast solution.
