View Full Version : Texture Map Size?

Hey Folks,

Im gearing up to start painting maps for my demo reel models and im hoping to get some clarification on how big to paint the maps. I have all my uv's currently layed out in 1:1 space and am thinking of doing one large 4k map for everthing. Since this is for a single pose, and the textures dont need to be super optimized for performance, my question is will this grant me enough detail? Would it be better to export the torso, head, and legs as seperate uv's and paint 4k maps for each? As it is, I have scaled up my Head UV's quite a bit to get more detail out of the single 4k map if thats the way I go. Anyway, any insight would be greatly appreciated (Render time isn't a huge issue here).
