View Full Version : Converting UVs from planar to cylindrical?

Hi All,
Can this be done?
I have a 3d headscan that has been textured with an atlas uv projection.
I want to copy/bake the colour information from this map onto one cylindrical map,
so I can edit the texture image

Any ideas? - I'm trying Surface baker, but I don't know if you can to transfer
the baked info from one uvset to another.

I may be wrong, but I think if you look at your baked image you will see that you still have an atlasmap. ..I think you would have to redo the UVs to get it rmapped differently. If your original image map for the face was painted in a fragmented map, then you might try flattening the face (morph), making a new UV of that pelt version then render it with the original atlas UV and image map. Then use your new UV and map to tweak it till it fits and looks right to you.

How about this, make a cylindrical unwrap of the model, apply the baked texture as the colour texture using the atlas uv, set self illumination 100%, turn off any lights and ambient light and bake out to the cylindrical UV?
