Ok, no need to tell you this isn't a realistic head but cartoony? I'm sure it is the effect you must be after ;)
The head itself looks a bit pointy? take some time to make it a bit smoother, like a clay figure...

less alien? hmm.. maybe reduce the size of the eyes and work a bit on their position? Those alien head often have big domes and very small jaws, you may want avoid those proportions? But I'm sure good texturing will prevent an alien look well enough..

I think your model looks pretty cool in a stylized way. Great job if this is really your first model! I'm not sure the look you were going for so it's hard to crit. Did you use any reference drawings or photographs? If so post them, so we can crit based on your intentions.....
Otherwise your model looks a little lumpy. (for example see the big bump at the top of the head near the front). Smooth out the really incongruous lumps, but be careful not to smooth out the personality. She does kind of look alien, but in my opinion this is kind of cool. If you were going for realism you need to pic up references. Personally I wouldn't try to hack this model into something realistic though. I'd keep it the way it is and work with it a bit -- stylize it more. If you want less alien shrink the eyes a ton and make the front view less top heavy.

The problem is the jaw.. Try makeing some space between the jaw and the neck

thanx for all the advise, the head is meant to be stylize, so the proportions can't be change, the thing is it looked alright on paper, i'd made sure i got all the proportions right, but it ended up too alien like. thnx for your time. when i'm finish tweaking, i'll post it in again..by the way , i'm using maya.
