mental ray v3 for maya4.0 V.S mental ray for maya1.5 on Maya4.5

on the maya4.0, we use mental ray version3.0 as a plug-in, now Alias\wavefront announce "mental ray for maya1.5" on Maya4.5,
Does anyone know which version the mental ray is on the maya4.5's "mental ray for maya1.5"? Is that an version older than mental ray v3?

another question is, as a plug-in renderer for maya,
which one's result is better? render man or mental ray?

i think i've read that it's 3.1 Version of Mental

the second question can't be really answered i really think.
you could also ask, what is better choco or vanilla icecream.

try it by yourself and make your own experiences

there is another thread going on for the 2nd question right now , i think being free for 4.5 users is a GREAT plus of MR :) also i think its easier to use MR

I am a newcomer for both mental ray and render man,
and can't really afford both of them,
so I am really very interested in their upside and downside,
any way, I think I got your point, I totally agree that it's a bad question.

versin3.1!!!cool, I think that's really worth to give it a shot,
in my memory, mental ray v3 for maya4.0 is very expendsive,
but now v3.1 is free for everyone, maybe it's time for me to upgrade to maya4.5:p
