View Full Version : UGAC-Handheld Environment -FPS Twilight Park
3Darthur 03-21-2006, 12:46 PM Name: Danny B
Genre: FPS
System: PSP Handheld
Concept: Eventide in the local park when the undead come alive - Fight for your life or die like a dog.
Here are the concepts so far, prepared in max with a skydome - I realise lots of optimization required to meet the guidelines.

"looking good, have you any idea of the layout etc"
the layout was originally based on a satellite shot of Hyde park so it was a square striated with paths, props and trees.
This i will tighten up to have more of an interesting and self contained shape -

i think it would be better if you used a more normal field of view for you shots, its fine on beauty shots but on wireframes and stuff it makes it hard to crit.

looking great,
only thing i'd change is the tree's, maybe use a shell technique or something.

Heres an update on some texture, lighting changes-
the shell effect of which i think you are talking about doesnt seem to be working for me (maybe i misunderstand the concept), with these trees they are meant to be winter deciduous with no leaves and purely branches - I have made some very low res trees in xfrog with alpha maps for the branches - they are coming in at 80-100 polys each aprox...
Texture sheets to come - some textures need work and optimization - so certain maps are gonna lose a lot of resolution - Y'all have to wait and see how that effects the integrity (hope i can get all this done on time)

Updates are here including a page with some texture maps.
Enhanced shadows and applied light projectors - spookified atmosphere remapped two buildings, more to come...spot the obvious mistakes?
