Use the Lumas channel shader (under "Effects"), with anisotropic option, in the color and/or luminance channel.

under effects i get 'lumas' and this tints it red but there is no anistropic option?

I found "Effects" & "Lumas" - but no "anisotropic option" anywhere and it just look like red to me, not brushed steel at all... help?

Or you could grab this...

Hey, Max! I didn't know you used Cinema. I just looked your CGportfolio and saw a piece listed as 'March 2006 C4D'. Good to know!

Hiya Ernest! :) yea i like C4D, it's so stable and good. Been testing 3dsmax before but decided nope not worth the trouble and the headaches of constant crashes. C4D never crashes no matter what you have it doing.

I'm not sure what piece is listed as March 2006 but there probably is something there in my portfolio. I just put those pics there as i was asked to do so :)

Cheers and see you around Ernest!

Anytime Fran :) hope it comes in handy for whatever you wanna do. With a bit of tweaking and colorchange you can achieve many other types of metal like surfaces.

Colourchange I can manage; other tweaking, well, I'm still learning C4D.
