For my animation production class I have to take a 15-20 second animation through all the steps to completion. I have passed the story boarding and making a lykra reel (am I spelling that right?). I am now on to building the sets. I haven't been doing this 3d stuff for too long- but I feel I've got a pretty good grasp. Still working on my rendering and lighting skills tho.
My story is about earth in what ever year. On this planet are some cartoon people. Rather generic but kinda cute (you'll see). They live on one of the polar ice caps in a big techno tower and there is a giant halo esc ring with a platform gun on it coming to blow up their home. The story follows one of the little toons as they jump into a ship and fly away as their home gets destroyed.
Pretty simlpe- but requires a lot of steps.
So anyways- here is what I've produced so far:
Heres my first draft of the earth. I will not be rending the finished scene with the background. I will be posting that in combustion. The atmosphere haze needs some work.

This is their techno tower home so far:
(I must say that this was inspired by one of the collab battles going on where they are making this huge tower thing that looks awsome).
Not quite sure how Im going to do the ice and water- it dosn't need to be that wavy- more calm with some ice bergs floating around.

And crits or comments are welcome. My teachers are on strike right now (have been for 2 weeks already!) and i've procrastinated a bit so Ill be working in over drive for however long this goes.
