Title: Skull With An Idea
Name: Grant Cross
Country: USA
Software: Photoshop

Here is a new piece iv just finished titled *Skull with and Idea* ; ), well the meaning behind it is umm I thought it would be a cool idea heh, so I made a still life arrangement with this skull and then I got a light bulb twisted some wire around the metal part of the bulb and pinned it to the black back board above his head so it looked like its floating. The way I came up with the idea was one of my light bulbs EXPLOITED! when I screwed it in my light table lamp WEIRD! so I got another bulb and I looked at the skull and thought hmmm that might look cool if the bulb was above his head like he just got an idea. The light bulb isn't on neither is he hes dead, but he an idea ; )

so here it is I hope you like, I really spent a BLEEP load of hours on this one! I wanted too make it as realistic as I could I used an anatomy skull I have

Slick idea very artfully executed. The subtle shadows to the left of the skull work well as does background.

Thanks guys :) hehe I do have plans on making more themed images like these, and other still life stuff things, I do use the eyedropper to select colors for my pallet I also use the color swatches that is in Photoshop I also change some of the colors by double clicking on the Select Foreground Color selected in the icon tool-bar so I can get some of the colors to match or get very close to the same

Thanks for looking

Another killer piece from Grant...great job man! 4.9 stars.
But Grant, you know, the exploitation of light bulbs is a good thing. If it weren't for that, we'd still be using candles, and most likely, your painting would have been done on canvas and would have depicted a skull with a candle on it's head, which, let's face it, has been done way too much!
Oh wait....did you mean to say "exploded"???????
Well, if so, that's a different story altogether......
Doesn't matter - great piece regardless!

Great concept but variable execution on details.

As example :

- a perfect skull and an imperfect cut (see no changes in shadows' colors)
- a perfect light rendering for the skull and a quite flat rendering for the lamp

3 stars.

Hope to watch new pics soon,
Serena.

Nice idea, but the elements of the image do not integrate perfectly. Perhaps some lightsource would help to get the two elements fit a little better together ?
