donno, I've got both and so far I prefer Modo. Silo is really cool and more stable then Modo but I miss "real" symmetry, endomorphs, and proper hiding/unhiding of geometry in Silo.

But when I see at what Silo 2 will be capable of I probably will use it more then I do at the moment.

I think both will work fine with Maya through obj files, but the way things are at the moment, Modo has the advantage of UV mapping and endomorphs you can export directly to Maya's blendshapes via Maya Asci.

Other then that I'd say, download both demo's and see for yourself. If you buy Modo now you'll get 201 for free what it's released which as some great new features: http://www.vertexmonkey.com/tutorials_general_modoFeatures.php
( or maybe it's better to wait a few weeks, most of the time Lux runs a special offer when an update is released )
