GeForce 7800 GT dual monitor display issues in Maya - fine with 1 monitor
OS: Windows XP Media Edition SP2
Video Card: EVGA nVidia geForce 7800 GT (latest drivers from the web 81.98)
Monitor setup: dual 24" Dell monitors

Maya 7.0 runs fine when running on just one monitor, but has the following problems when running dual:

- refresh problem where the display seems to freeze even though i am navigating through the viewport. i can see flickers of the updated view as i am moving around, but it invariably goes back to the view where it initially froze up.

this is happening in the viewports and in the graph editor. if i minimize or totally maximize the viewports or the tearaway graph editor panel, it "unfreezes" temporarily, but the problem occurs again after only about 30 seconds.

i tried keeping all maya related windows on one monitor, which didn't solve anything. also tried creating a new scene and creating a default sphere to test scene complexity, but it had the same problem.

a friend of mine with the same monitor and graphics card setup is not having this issue.

thanks in advance.

I have a XFX 7800 GT with dual monitor setup and maya works very well.... You should try to change our config settings. Try to change the compatibility mode in your maya desktop shortcut to Windows 2000... just an ideia.:lightbulb

thanks for the reply spurv. it's already set to windows 2000 compatibility (i knew to do that because of playblast issues previously)...

This problem is because of the NVidia drivers. Downgrade to the 77.77 drivers, and maya will run perfectly (and a bit faster too, IMO).
