I'm sure you'll arrive to the level of your friend Seb, good start

The mesh of the eye region needs a higher subdivision level, the eye material can be really improved ;)

And yes, Seb is really good at character modeling, his characters and Renè Morel characters are my 1st source of inspiration  ;)

Texturing is not my first preoccuption for now
I would like to make good models before starting texturing them :surprised
About the subdivision levels, I prefere iteration 1 because it leash better marked lines (for men characters :D)
I think take up it more (iteration 2 or 3 !) smooths too much the mesh.
Now ... It's only my opinion

Omg ... my english is really rotten lol

Lips are looking good, but try to work out the bumps at the peak of the upper lip. It should just flow softly from the crease under the nose into the upper lip.

I agree with the other comments already made.

Looking good, though.

Keep at it!

I usually use 3 iterations, watch my mesh, it's really sharp ;)

Yeah but your work is textured, mine isn't ;)

The lips are too pure, they need vertical crack lines on them

There is no bump texture ever and I don't think I'll texture those test models ;)

Here is a test noise made in 10 minutes

It isn't ever very detailled ... I'll certainly see that later

There's one too many fold over the eye. Otherwise it's pretty cool, you should make an ear next - and then move on to a full head!

Ingham

The first "fold" is in fact the arch, the second is the small skin which falls again on the eyelid, at certain persons.
I like this style :)

But i think your right, the arch is not made successfully, I certainly should revise that

On the other hand I have some problems with ears, but with a mirroir, it will doubtless pass ;)
Hum ... Somebody have URL with big ears pics ? :D

There's a very good ear tutorial here if you want to give it a try : http://www.secondreality.ch/ :)

Yeah your tutorial is interesting and i certainly can use some images from here to replace my mirroir ;)
Thank you

Never replace the mirror with anything ;) add and add but don't replace the mirror
