View Full Version : firework effect
mason 12-18-2002, 11:43 PM Hi
Can anyone explain the best way to create an exploding firework effect.
Im after the coloured sparkles, trails of colour kind of style. This is for a still
image. Any ideas?? Tried to use SLA but I dont really have enough knowledge
of this to get what I'm after but am keen to find out how . Hope it all makes sense.
Thanks for any help.

One way is to take a sphere, place a explosion FX in it's hierarchy, and render it with a glowing texture and a 9 times seen motion blur. Simple but effective.

With Thinking Particles, you'd be able to pound out this effect without any problems. You could control the ALL of the aspects from launch to detonation to when they fade off out of existence.
You could change the color, speed, shape, etc. over time with just some simple node connections. Download the XL demo and give it a go.
