I introduce Miss Evalia Geneseth.
In fact I love role playing game and for the moment I play to Guild wars (anybody knows ? ;)). Evalia is my character and I have tried to imagine what could her youth be....
My scene is when she leaves the monastery with her mount to follow a life of adventure. This is the little story.

She is approximatively ended. For the moment I don't know if I'm going to use Zbrush....I'll see

I prefer creating backgrounds, I don't use to do character. I find she's quit good but you are probably better judge than I. Say me what you think about her, please. Even she's not finished....

It seems like her head is too big for her body. I may be the only one who thinks this but I am pretty sure about it. Nice modeling though. :)

Yes it's true but I wanted it. First because I didn't want a too realistic character, then because she is young and this little disproportion accentuates that,I think. I will change that if you are not alone to be annoyed. thank you for your comment:)

Fair enough. It is not that it annoys me but that I want you to succeed. So if you intentionally did that then I am all right with it. If it jars anyone else I would suggest that you change it.

I think proportions are right... pheraps effect of foreshortening?
Great work! I like the character a lot!!

As I said to se7enthcin, some disproportions are intentionnal and I think that the position and the place of the camera accentuate it.... for the moment I m not going to change anything. I will modify her proportions if I don't like it on the final picture.

I think it's approximatively my final scene for the style of the landscape and the position of the two characters....maintenant y'a plus qu'a!!!

YOur character seems quite good. In your perspective view, it's ok, but in front I would say she maybe needs a little scale on height. MAybe a little more work on the eyes also if we'll see her really near from cam.
Good luck.

just a try with the volume light of 3D studio max. But the volume light doen't work with mental ray and I'll probably need it for the shader of skin. So I'll render my picture by differents layers and after I'll probably simulate the volume light with photoshop.

I have change my mind a little bit for the style of my landscape... first it was in a sort of desert, finally it will be in a forest. The city will be hanged up to a hudge tree, approximatively like the draw.

Wow Vlaad, that's really nice work on the forest scene...the images you're posting are a bit small, so it is hard to see the extent to which procedural textures might be noticable, but, it looks so lush and detailed at the current resolution -- really well done. Also your character, well posed and interesting...can't wait to see more! Great quality work

I' have nearly finished my background. I'll render the landscape in 3 or 4 differents pieces. After i'll simulate the volume light on photoshop between the differents layers and may be I'll add a blur, also with photoshop.

Final scene looks good - maybe a lower camera angle could make it more dramatic?
I really like the details/texturing/lighting on the background. It's a very convincing forest, but the grass ends suddenly when the path begins, and the path itself could use more detail and colour variation.
Keep up the good work!:)

I'm not sure about the style of the final architecture of my monastery. For the moment I just have try to find a good composition between the forest and the monastery. It will be probably made with white stone and wood.

hi,
Your work is very nice.
I'm wondering how you got that nice ground look with the grass and all that stuff.
How did you do it?

Hi Askham,
First thank you....
For the grass, it's a plugin called "hair and fur" (included in 3D studiomax 8). The result is quite good but the time render is more longer  . Anyway I will work again on the grass by compositing on photoshop.
For the trees it's basic cylinder with a lot of Z-brush, after the realism depends of the quality of the texture. I have a numeric camera so I try to have some good texture enough and if I don't find that I want there is the website of Antoine Lemog (que je salue et remercie au passage) and few other website where you can find some good texture.
After for the floor, I work with Z-brush and I use the render to texture of Max to create normal map to simulate the relief ( it's less expensive in polygones if you haven't a very powerful PC)
And....I think that's all !
I hope It'll help you....
Hi :wavey: I really like your character, she seems strong and alive, maybe the hair could be done with the hair plugin you used for the grass though? That's going to kill your render time, my bad :D But I'm sure it would be worth it!

I have nearly finished my monastery, I'll probably add some details ( sculpture, my be statue). For the moment I try to find an atmosphere by different light. I like this one, tell me what you think about it....
