View Full Version : CG toolkit... Nvidia in OSX

so here is my question can i use my mac powerbook with an ati vga card, to program some shader in CG (C graphics)?
please help i know i can use with a pc but iīm allways on the move so can i or canīt?

Maybe, but I wouldn't recommend Cg. Try taking a look at RenderMonkey to see if they have a Mac version yet.
The Cg toolkit works fine for me on my ATI equipped PowerBook. If you're not tied to Cg as a language specifically, the Mac OS X dev tools ship with the "OpenGL Shader Builder" which as a handy real-time tool for writing shaders using GLSL or ARB.

the problem is that they donīt compile in directX. that is the benefit of cg language.
I have to use 3dsmax in directx mode here at the office...
So what do i use in mac to write my shader... i have som e quite crazy ideas i need to put to work...

If you need to be on both DX and OGL, it seems like Cg is your only choice.
