Winter is officially over today and we have a meltdown going on at Strut. Blue Sky Studio’s Ice Age 2 (http://www.iceagemovie.com/) opens up this week and we have Scrat’s Lead Animator Aaron Hartline (http://www.aaronhartline.com/) featured on Strut. Not only that, Aaron has agreed to do a live Question + Answer session (http://www.strutyourreel.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=35) for a week starting March 29th. So swing by Strut and read Aaron's awesome interview (http://www.strutyourreel.com/forum/feature/) and post your questions (http://www.strutyourreel.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=35) to him.
Also, a huge thanks to James Baxter (http://www.jamesbaxteranimation.com/) who was last month’s Featured Artist. James shared a ton of great information. Check out his interview (http://www.strutyourreel.com/forum/feature/baxter/) if you missed it:
There are some new contests springing up at Strut- animation, character design, etc. A cool mix of exercises. Make sure to check out (http://www.strutyourreel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1278) what is coming up.
Thanks to Ed Hooks (http://www.edhooks.com/) for hosting his monthly Acting for Animators (http://www.strutyourreel.com/forum/index.php?c=10) session on Strut. Due to a family tragedy, Ed is on hiatus but we hope to have him back soon to offer his excellent acting tips for Strut members. Get well Ed!!
Lastly, congratulations to Christin Marineau, who won Strut’s first ever Character Design Contest (http://www.strutyourreel.com/vote/). Her winning design will be made into a 3D character for the Strut members to use for their own animations. Thanks to all the participants who made it an awesome contest!!
So hurry up and swing by Strut!!
