This was for a materials and lighting project not a modeling project. Sorry I should of said that when I first posted it.

maybe some more lighting, looks a bit dark, otherwise nice, good grass.

There're also nice dirt-marks on the ball. Real nice texturing.

too flat.... hmm maybe make the bg more blur? and bg color less contrasting...maybe that'll help.:thumbsup:

If this is an outdoor shot, perhaps increase your kicker light intesity, up the contrast, and tinge the color to a yellow. I poop load of instanced light blue omni lights with a low shadow map res and a combined mutiplier not to exceed the kicker's value may add some nice GI effects...Better shading, etc.

When I look at the image, I'm not struck that it's daytime in a big open field.

Textures on the ball are lovely. Grass is pretty good, but I'd add some more variation.

Keep it up, it's look'n good!

I said I'd comment, sorry so late. I like it, I love what you did with the pole and I do think this is a huge improvement (On this piece and since the beginning) :) The ball looks much better.

Some crits, I think you need an actual background, but I wouldn't want to model it. And we didn't really have to. I'd toss a little something on the blue/red. They seem to stick out in this pic, might be the resolution though. I like it. Very nice work.
