For the life of me, I just cant grasp why this isnt working.
Hopefully, someone here can enlighten as to why things are going wrong.

I am trying to make a handle for a jar. Here is a screenshot of the 2 splines I am trying to sweep.
The problem is the flat side of the spline to be swept goes on the inside of the path spline. As you can see it is turning and I think I know why but when I try to change things around, I get the same results.

Help please! :scream:

In your 3d veiw try lining up your cross section at the beginning and in the middle on the y axis of the start of the other spline, see if that makes any difference :)

Rotating the spline's axis was the only way I could get it to work..I havent any idea why. But Thank you, your help did make me think twice about things.

Only one other problem now. When I make the object editable, there are hella polys! I adjusted all the parameters in the nurb dialog but I cant seem to reduce the polys...what is it based on..iso? spline points?

I think its probably spline points. You could hand weld some points together to reduce the size or maybe get stitch and sew plugin {only works in 7 at the moment I think) There is a plugin native to C4D called simple maker, but it reduces to tris, from there though you could try un triangulate and un check evaluate angle,it might be messy though :)

I dont use sweeps very often, but try reducing 10 isoparms to 5 and see what happens
