Is there such a plug-in for Ati and Matrox also? Or is nVidia the first to release this?

nose- you are referring to the rendermonkey IDE, which is not yet available for maya.

hrmm.... i gave it a shot... the demo scenes didn't load correctly... it wasn't looking for the material files in the correct place.. when i located them by hand.. nothing seemed to work right... ah well... it sounded cool.. but i would love a 'plugin' that would utilize the GeForce card's lighting effects or something.. without the need of any special materials or anything...

just a thought =]

Nose,

I talked to one of the engineer over at Nvidia and they said sure they will also make one for ATI.

Now, everybody is happy :p

is this going to be like how XSI is where you use the in program shader editor to make them or do you have to program them?

I really hope you can just use the hypershader and just connect a CGShader utility node to the hierarchy.

otherwise it is still not artist friendly :(

Sure I didn't mean for NVidia to release an Ati plug-in..... :hmm:

For my own : Big hype + big disapointment. :(

It's only half working or even not working properly with my TI 4400.

Haaaa, that was something else with this real pro Opengl card, the wildcat 4110 under Maya. ;) (where are those good old days?)
