View Full Version : CgTalk Daily Sketch 652 THE 20 MINUTE SKETCH: "Lazy Sunday"
RobertoOrtiz 03-19-2006, 03:29 PM OK we are going to do AN EXPERIMENT for the next few days...
You have 20, (count them 20!) minutes to do your sketch. The idea is that at the end of those 20 minutes you have to post your sketch in whatever form it is.
So bring out your sketcbook, and your watch, ill be watching you!
The idea of this exercise is to build up speed m so you may post as many DIFFERENT sketches as you want.
And by the way, to keep people in their toes, I will vary the LENGHT of time.
"Lazy Sunday"
We will try to post one of these topics once a day for your enjoyment.
These are the rules:
* Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
* RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
* They can be done on any medium.
* If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
* Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
* The topics will be posted every day between 10:00 - 12:00 am US EST.
* The artist also has to post total length of time it took (Thanks Clanger for the idea) and program used.
* Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
* Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
* The topics will be picked at random from the list on this thread
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
*You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them). NEW RULE!
* Ill post ANOTHER thread to quantify and track WHO has participated the most on these threads.
Good luck
-Roberto

This is not so much a picture of "lazy sunday" but what i drew this lazy sunday.
Its good to get back into the sketcing thing. Thanks to all of those who have commented on my previous posts. I thought i would try this black and white thing for a while. to focus more on drawing and composition skills without color getting in the way. Its all just for fun anyway :)

Got bored at work thought I'd do another.
I sketch really light, and wasn't sure if darkening in the lines would count as breaking 20 min, so, 20 min, pencil, sorry it's soo light

SalmaH and Dern: Welcome to the DSG! :wavey:
Well...umm...what comes out on a lazy Sun I gues...hehehe... My original thought was to have a sleeping lazy horse...then I got really indecisive about the neck (changed it many times), then just got really silly and at the end of 20 min. had this. Actually, I think it could be another challenge concept...seriously. :D

hehe.... maybe you shouldn't tell her that she looks like the back of a 20 min. sketch. And here I thought I didn't have the skill to capture a likeness on such a time budget.... :p
