View Full Version : problem selecting items in layout
Ayreon 12-18-2002, 07:28 PM I'm having problems when I try to select bones in layout. I thought you could just left click in the vieport to select them, but that isn't working. When I use item shape the same thing happens, or rather doesn't happen. Only when I use the middle mousebutton to drag select is it possible to select an item, but that's not very usefull, because when I try to select a bone inside a mesh, 9 times out of 10 the object is selected and not the bones. Now I always have to use the shematic view.
Is there a solution to this problem?? Or is it jst the wat Layout works?

Make sure in||||| "General Options" Left button Item Select ||||| is checked.. If not you couldn't select anyting via left click but middlemouse you could.. Also with bones you have to have the mouse directly on the bone and maybe this will help maybe not but try using "Bone X-Ray" Found by the list where you pick Perspective view Camera View Left right... etc. The button just to the right of that one.. the downarrow.. Bone X-Ray helps you be sure to click on the bone its self.. Once you get the left click workin' you should look into using Proxy pickers for bones like your root and any joints you double up like in the shoulder if you do 2 bones to avoid gimbal lock. The tut for it is at www.newtek.com
hope some of that helps! :wavey:
