View Full Version : Maya cloth won't simulate!!!

Now I've got a scene with a character and a few texture files and that's pretty much it.

When I try to get a cloth simulation running (with the clothing already made) it does NOTHING. It just sits there.... Pretending to calculate forever! I even tried deleting the character clothing I made, and I made simple flat cloth out of square Curves and it still does the same thing!!!

But then I tried a New Scene, I loaded up a cloth out of square curves again and simulated, and it ran fine!!! What could be wrong with my character Scene??

1. Check maybe your cloth is still cashed?
2. Check in hypergraph all the connections.
Maybe you've deleted time line connection with cloth?
Maybe you deleted some other of the cloth nodes?
Does it move at all, or it just does nothing?

Try deleting the cache go back to frame 1 (or the start of the anim) and click play. I have noticed that sometimes when the cloth isn't working its best to re solve it.

Wow haven't seen this post in a while...

Actually, to this day I don't know for sure what caused the problem. I really think the scene just had too much crap in it. Because I actually exported the character and cloth and a few other essential assets into a new Maya scene, and the simulation ran fine.

Thanks for the help though. Strange problem it was.
