I try to write a script which find and replace "missing material" by raytrace material.

Someone knows how to write it ?

I presume you're looking for a missing plugin class? Larry Minton recently posted an excellent script under maxscript in the discreet webboard. Silly to try to expand on such a good script from an excellent writer when you could read it yourself!
