Very interesting design on that game.
A week ago or so someone linked me to a japanese-made adventure game. The art was very unique, it was some sort of hybrid of cell shading and traditional japanese ink/watercolor paintings. Unfortunately I didn't bookmark the link and wasn't able to find it at gamespot again. :/ I'll ask my friend later tonight and see if I can find it.

Okami? Atleast, that's what I think.

I was thinking of Capcom's Okami as well. If I remember correctly, it's been developed by Clover Studios. The same people responsible for Viewtiful Joe.

this isnt exactly a 'new' style but i havnt seen it done well in any games yet. (including xiii).
Exit (http://www.gamespot.com/psp/action/exit/index.html)
Its actually 3d, not 2d. You should really watch a trailer of it to show you just how it feels. It moves alot different than it looks...
And that Okami game looks interesting. The thing i love the most is the grit on an overlay so it looks like its all painted on bumpy paper.

Not sure if graphic style is quite the right term for it, but Shadow of the Colossus (http://media.ps2.ign.com/media/490/490849/imgs_2.html) has some incredible designs that are somewhat different in style than anything I've seen to date.
I'm playing through it just now and I've been sitting with an dumbfounded half-grin on my face as I see each one.
(Created in LightWave, too, yay \o/)

Kinda goofy, but for a unique style, I think Sketchfighter (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/forums/index.php?act=module&module=gallery&cmd=sc&cat=19) qualifies.

yeah im looking forward to it too, but it does remind me of the Oddworld stylee. think its the painterly textures exagerattion of froms.
and okami, looks amazing, capcom, have really been stretching the book in terms of painterly vision recently, they always seem to have a leftfeild game in the pipes Viewtifull joe, Killer 7, Okami, all goe for a interesting style. have you seen the new(ish) Link screens of the wolf, seems very close to the Okami style MMMMMMMMM
Just to pick up on Killer 7. It looks fantastic, unfortunately the same cannot be said of the actual gameplay. That's something we should not lose sight of when looking at games.
I do agree that Capcom seem to have something leftfield in the works at most times. On top of the ones you mentioned, you might want to look up Gregory Horror Show & Under The Skin. Both games are excellent. especially Gregory Horror Show.

Just had a look at the trailer. It reminds me somehow of a film called Dark City.

Actually Metronome reminds me of Shiny's Earth Worm Jim 2D series. Especially the chair on a string thing...totally homage to the cow I think. Psychonauts was/is cool.

There are some great new ones and a bunch of old ones. I'm an art style/innovative/breaking the mold visually fiend. I look for and consume that stuff whenever possible. Here are some to play - or at the very least find some screenshots/game-play videos on.
World of Warcraft (the king of style, art direction and culture in my opinion)
Psychonauts (awesome stuff with the environments that take place in the mind of others)
Oddworld:Strangers Wrath (numero uno production value studio in the industry)
Grim Fandango (more goodness from Tim Shafer)
Viewtiful Joe (speed and outstanding game - cell shading stands out obviously)
Ultimate Spider Man (outstanding presentation and game-play presentation)
Guild Wars (beautiful lighting and their glow effects give a lot of atmosphere to some places)
American McGees Alice (awesome Tim Burton feel with off kilter architecture and oozes of style)
Metronome (you can find a wallpaper I made of it on 360style.net)
Kameo (gorgeous environments with lots of stuff going on around you. Very cool character designs for the creatures she changes into)
I'm sure there is more that I will post later but thats good for now.

personnely i wouldnt rank Kameo under the banner interesting new IP or art style, sure it does some neat things, but they all seem to be extensions of what has gone befor IMO
if you want to see something cool and inspiring or just have an hour or two to spare, check out these flash games, more beautifull than anything on Xbox 360.
SAMOROST (http://www.samorost2.net/samorost1/)
SMAOROST2 (http://www.samorost2.net/)
NOW THATS WHAT I CALL INTERESTING ART STYLE.
