CGTalk - Animating bump map in maya

Hi all,
I have a question about animating bump maps in Maya.

In Maya, I tried to assign image sequences or videos to the bump map attribute of a material, but for some reason, the bump doesn't show at all (not to mention moving) when I render...

Does anyone know why this happens?
