View Full Version : No self occlusion in mib_amb_occ for Maya6.5?

Hi Guys,

do you know a way of having an object occluded by others but not by itself in Maya6.5? In 7.0 there are the id_nonself attributes but i'm missing them in 6.5 and I cannot use 7 on my current project...

PLEEEEAAAAAAASE HELP ME!!!

EDIT: Maybe they are just hidden attributes in 6.5?!?!?!

The mib_amb_occlusion has been rewritten for this functionality. Unfortunately the source in the devkit has not been updated though.

You could try using finalgathering with min/max falloff and a plain dgs applied to the whole scene to pull an occlusion pass that has several objects invisible to the solution, but I suppose that's not what you want...

that's no good news for me....i can not do a workaround like you suggested...
SELF occlusion sucks!
