I should have posted this like two years ago... anyway now it is an update with all nasty code errors removed.

I created Lovefish for the purpose of allowing nonrealistic renderings (NPR) for visualization in Newtek Lightwave3D. The main purpose with Lovefish is to offer textured tones, something that has not been offered before by any previously existing shader for Lightwav3D (this was in the year 2004). The textured tones are a substantially widening of what is possible to imitate in the field of classical art techniques. Among others has a number of SIGGRAPH papers been the foundation and a source of inspiration for what has been achieve in this project. Download this plugin from here and see some samples (could not make them show up on this page): http://jimstein-code.blogspot.com/ I would love to see what you will do with it.

It is a free shader, only for the PC

I just came to think that I should mention some tips that are not that obvious. You can use the Bump and Luminosity Channels in the Basic panel in the Surface Editor to change the features of the surface. The earth globe on my homepage was done with Luminosity Channel and turning of all light sources inside Lovefish. If you use the bump channel you can simulate different media, like oil or watercolor but here you have to play around to get what you want with different noise.

Have fun ;)
