Nice line art. I like the character and the ship design. The left foot seems a bit off.
IŽll be looking forward for the painting process. Keep it up.

The picture has a really nice composition. The only thing that bothers
me in the picture is that somehow the mini-plane has light source
above it, yet the houses in the street don't. It can't be the moon
that shines on the miniplane so it must be some sort of direct
light above it, no?

Srulo -> right, right, I'm workin' on it. Im going to place moon somewhere, but i'm not sure where?

Wherever you need the hilight on the flying-vehicle most, put the moon in the sky in the place that will get you those hilgihts. Right now, from the tops of the engines, it's looking a bit like upper left.
Really cool ship design too, by the way.

this is lovely, a very touching take on things, and I like the fact you've titled it 'escape' it gives a whole different feel to it rather than just 'dad leaving for work'. I love guys who can design ships like that too, i love the organic feel to it... Your lighting seems to be working well now that you have the moon in, everything makes sense and it's more dramatic, the stealthy slip away in the middle of the night. Only thing I might sugget is adding a railing or something to the plaform the guy holding his daughter is on., so they dont plunge to their death on the way back! But other than that...
Great work.. keep it up!

What a beautiful scene. The shipdesign is really cool. Hope to see all those details that you had in the lineart.
What is he escaping from? Is that something you plan to include in the painting?
Great work so far! Good luck

The vehicle blocks the face of the man holding up the baby... makes it harder to "read" what's going on. Maybe the baby-holding-man could be a bit higher up?

Man ,I really like the mood of this. The only thing that looks strange is the guy lifting the little girl up, maybe you could have him on a short ladder so you can see his face a bit. just a suggestion...Great work.

love the detail in this one :)
and also some really beautiful lighting going on :)
two things you may/may not want to think about...
1) the guy holding up the little girl..looks a lille strange...actually at first i didnt know it was a person untill i read all the posts...
2) the main guys legs seem a little out of proportion...where his knees are...but that could just be me...also i only thought that in the close up one...
great work :)

I think, the background doesn't support the foreground like the first one. BG is deeply go inside the picture but foreground make the feeling of going left and right in side view, they drop down each other's feeling and direction that make overall composition to be neutral and still. Think about adding more element to make some direction relation to BG and foreground to make all element fully work their function and make powerful dynamic element.
Keep going!!

Nice pic! Congrats on finishing!
I'm not sure if it's just the resizing, but it might be a good idea to sharpen some of the (most important) foreground details - It's a little indistinct.
Great work!

hey really nice man !
maybe an atmospheric affect of two might help, some fogging maybe ? i think the main characters crotch is a little to high.
also , the guy raising the kid - maybe you need to see his head.
just ideas, really liking your piece!
