I apologize for not doing my research first, but I need help fast. Has anyone rendered a surface to appear to be thickened? Kinda like using a front back node, except have a small thickness in between. I need a solution in the render tree, and can't be done with the model. I also need to be able to see the object on edge, clearly seeing it is thick. I was thinking of something like Hypervoxels in Lightwave, perhaps it can be done with particles?
I need this for a cloth dynamics I'm setting up. I have spectacular dynamics with a single grid, but after modeling the opposing side, and enabling self-collision for cloth, the model whacks out. So, I thought, maybe I can render the thickness, and have great, fast, cloth with a simple grid.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
