I'm trying to create some liquid streaming down a metal surface.
I've got my metal background and to create the water trickling down it I created a water type image layer above it. To this image layer I've applied a mask which defines the water as it streams (making little tentacles) down the surface of the background.
What I'd like to do is give the liquid some sort of 'thickness' as it looks very flat. Sort of give it a highlight to enhance its 3D(ness)
Could somebody give me some suggestions on how I would do this? I thought I'd be able to just apply an effect(such as emboss or even better render lighting the image cut out by the mask) over the top but effects seem can only be applied to the whole of a layer and not take into account a mask?
Any help really appreciated.
