View Full Version : Professionals in blender?
FreakyDude 03-13-2006, 09:02 PM Just kinda wondering, how many of you are working professional in blender?
And in what field?
Do you work on site in a team or at home?
Do you use blender as a small part of your workflow or is it the main app you use?
Etc etc
I was just curious about that...

Yep. I work professional in Blender, mainly architectural projects related with my activity as freelance draftsman. I work at home. For example this picture. Full 3D modelled with Blender from 2D CAD DXF files. Rendered with YafRay (GI skydome QMC)

- in what field? retail displays and graphic design
- Do you work on site in a team or at home? agency
-Do you use blender as a small part of your workflow or is it the main app you use? blender is my main tool for visualisation but i hardly use it in my design work unless i have a specific need for a 3D element.
I run my own company with an equal partner, and visualizations made with Blender are a significant part of our product-offering.
It is one area of many others we do, but increasingly important one at that. I hope I could have time to do more of it, tho.

Product and architectual visualisation (mainly product though). This includes animation/simulation too.

I have my own little studio at home, sometimes, for big jobs my girlfriend helps

Well, as for my 3D-things (I do a lot of 2D too), it depends, but mainly modelling is done outside of Blender (SolidWorks), and textures too (of course). Blender is sometimes used for quicky modelling but mostly for simulation/animation/rendering.
