Okay all, I really need some critiques on this scene.

--------------------------------------
Some notes about it:
the pawn on the ground won't be there (probably a different pose, maybe chasing the knight piece around)

Garbage can needs a bag and some garbage in it, but I'm not sure that can save it in terms of composition.

The empty stool will probably have a king piece sitting on it, with glasses and a necktie on, reading a paper.

Probably use some subtle DOF eventually too.

(I apologize if this was posted here before, as I have posted it to other forums, but I don't remember submitting it here. I searched and searched, and I didn't find it anywhere here, so here it is. )

Nice work
I like your scene, very original idea, and it has a nice feel about it. Just one thing though, the chess piece with the apron on, im guessing its the king or queen, but how is it holding the frying pan?

Good work so far! look forward to seeing updates.

The concept is so interesting :)

CaUsTiK: The scene is a whimsical, playful one. Adding in arms would make the queen appear kind of weird to me, and the fact that the pan (and soon the newspaper when I add the king) is just floating there adds to the surrealism.

On a side note, it reminds me of the Far Side comic where the snakes are eating at the cafe and the newspapers/menus are just floating there.
