View Full Version : How do you paste a image into a layers layer mask??

How do I paste a bitmap image into a layer mask?

I thought I could just CTRL-C the image I want, then click on the layers layer mask and CTRL-V it but it just creates a new layer instead?

Any help appreciated.

Create a new channel, paste the image into the channel, press CRTL and select the channel via clicking on it. You should have a selection corresponding to the content of that channel. Keep that selection and go back in your layer, press Delete.

However nothing happens when I hold down control and click on the layer except that a 'load selection' appears in my history??

Are you using CS2?

Because you try to select in the layer, not in the channel like I wrote.
