This is the main ideea. two bugs, father and son are set on a pretty long journey.
Everything happens at the grass level. In the back is their house left empty.

This is what this challenge is about!

Make the enviroment big/massive and the characters small.. Lovely concept!

Gonna make it cartoon or a bit realistic? :)
waiting for more..

Ur characters should go more to the right to suggest the journey will be a good one.
For the moment, it seems they are leaving thier house for good. It makes the picture sad

This one will be interesting to see develop.... vastly different from all the space aliens and mutants everyone else seems to be creating

You made the perspective just right :)
This will be fun

The scene doesn't have to be too complicated to look good.
I'll be watching this one :arteest:

I've only recently seen this technique used to create a scene to where simple block shapes are used to create a rough image. The last time I saw this technique used is when I read this tutorial about a guy who created a giant mech looking robot of sorts attacking a fortified structure.
The mech had an early 17th century looking structure on top with British looking soilders manning it. It reminded me of that old TV series "Wild wild west".
Needless to say, it was very cool looking. The creator used this style of modeling to help him with form, layout, and also as a guide to indicate what parts he needed to model and what parts he could leave out since you wouldn't have seen it anyway.
Needless to say, it turned out very cool so I would expect this piece to turn out very cool as well.

Nice camera angle, but the shadow seem covered your main objects too much.:)
Sure this going to be a great one!!

Merci Radu !
@alvin_cgi> The shadows are there as they should be! The grass is like a forest for the characters. Of course in the final image there will be changes, maybe sharper shadows...

Cool idea I wonder i fyou are going to try to capture the translucense of the leaves. At that level everything is not so solid looking but more translucent a tricky thing to do in 3D.
