this is the concept sketch of my idea that i'll positively carry out throughout the challenge. the characters are sketched in painter(awesome sketch program), and background doodling done in photoshop. comments and critique are very welcome.

nice sketch, i like the way you draw your characters, whats the story behind it? Also why is the middle samurai kinda looking at you? nice stuff, good luck!

Thanks, im a big Nomura fan(ffvii, viii, x, kingdom hearts), and i try to add his style to mines. The samurais are actually pirates on a commision to capture the princess(seen tide up), the rest of the story, i'll tell when i'm done with the project.

Awesome idea! I'm a huge Nomura fan as well, so it will be interesting to see how you handle the style!:D

That's looking nice so far. Good composion and flow, and nice characters... Only why's the second guy looking at the camera? It feels a little awkward, like he's breaking the 4th wall (or a bad actor! :) ) But overall things look nice. Good luck with this!

Nice sketch, so i can't determinate the concept you've chosen for the challenge, can you explain a bit more.
Anyway, nothing to say about your way of drawing. respect.

David.

it seams you have some perspective problems in your image above. you may not be showing the size of those characters the way you want. here's a little trick. place an imaginary character in the bg next to something with scale, such as the bridge. then where ever a character is in the midground will be an average of that size and the size of your fg character. here's an example:

sorry for the sketch. no wacom here.
hope this helps. your characters are great and i can't wait to see them in action with a bit o story.

good luck, mate!

sorry if that post sounded like: hey, here's how to draw.
if you're character in the hat is standing on lower ground, and there's nothing in the sketch to really say he's not, then the perspective works.

sorry man, sketches look awesome.
looking forward to some crazy kung fu mayhem.

cheers,

Man! Haven't been here for a while. Too busy with college. Looks like everyone's almost done! After weeks of deciding, here's my final idea. The story here is always the same as my other ideas, with a main hero, a princess, and so on. Some of you may notice that the castle is referenced from FFIX's Lindblum and and FFVII's Midgar. I like that crossover idea! Well, now for some final touch on line art, and then coloring. Tell me if the perspective looks wrong on the giant canon, though, in comparision to the characters.
