So I've never done anything like this before or even created art in this fashion before. I've never drawn to this extent either. Nothing past doodles and maybe a few 3d reference images. Should be a fun experience :D
This is just a concept of two samurai about to journey into enemy territory. One is a master on the right, and the left is the apprentice who is all scared while the master just smirks. Thinking of adding a fortress instead of the army, and having it set at night. Not sure, will have to experiment and learn to draw at night in the process ^-^

Hey fllad glad to see you actually enter :) , In my latest sketch I threw the left guy out just because it did not look good at all and I've added a chinese like fortress instead of the rushing army. I also improved on the main samurai a lot. Primarily with details in his sword and his clothing and emblem. If I can get my scanner working I will put it up. Right now I'm working on the foilage and scenery.
I heard you entered the 3d AND 2d. I have to see this 2d :P

reference reference reference.
you can only draw what your mind can see. find images of castles and hillsides and samurai and your image will quickly evolve as your understanding of the suject increases.
have fun, mate!

Still having trouble with my scanner, hoping to bring it over to a friends house and upload it that way. I took your advice anzibon and I'm finding it much easier to draw japanese fortresses/castles with the correct styling. I'm saving all my sketches so will have an update soon.
