Hi there,
I'm still working on the scenario concept, but the initial idea is to work on my dog. He's to me the travel and adventure image 'cause it's all he likes. So I'm bringging him into the 3D world as a warrior.
I'm posting the concept image for the character. The history will come later.
Let's work!!

More character modeling.... I'm almost satisfied..
I'm having problems with my scanner so I don't know when I'll be posting the scene image... SORRY!

ok guys
As I told I'm having a little problem with my scanner, so I'm posting a quick image I made in photoshop, only to pass the idea..
I know.. it's terrible, but's ok

Now the history. I should have posted this before.........

My scene will be about a Dog, a Dog warrior. He's a mist of human and dog.
He's a solitary character, seeking for the truth about his origin.
He's about to go to his journey and he's leaving his home. It's about those reflections where you're seeking the wrong and wright of a moment.
There's a enormous nostalgia feeling 'cause he's leaving his safe home without know if will ever come back.
It's a spiritual journey especially, but as a trained warrior he goes prepared for the worse.
His backup history is peaceful with family memories. But that it ain enough anymore.
He want's more...

It's hard to reply taking in consideration there's so much few known. It's strange that you've started the model before the concept itself and the photoshop artwork doesn't help much.
I'm waiting for the story. Also, avoid begging for replies, specially because there's not much to reply at this stage :)

Good luck

Hi,
Thanks for the reply!
I didn't made the model before the full concept. I have the role idea made by hand, but I'm with a scanner issue.
My next post will be the history so it wont be strange anymore if it's what appearing.
See ya

ok...
the character texture is almost done!
I'm having a little problem! As all you can see it's a dog so...... it was supose to have fur on he's body! but my Maya is the 6.0 version and it don't have Fur... (I think!)
by now I made an texture of fur painting it on photoshop until I see a way out so I don't stop anymore on this problem.
now I'm going to the setup and modeling the scenario.
If someone see a way to help I'd be glad!
let's work...

ok... I bought myself a tablet (FINALLY!!!) and now I can post here my scene idea 'cause as I said before: scanner issue!!
so, my character will be leaving his home. the door will be opened showing the interior that will be getting dark with a torch inside.
he will be carring his stuff on his back with the left hand and the sword on the other...
I'll try to make it the most dramatic possible using lights and shadows I think...
let's work

ok... long time without post. I've been busy on another project, but now I'm having a little more time to dedicate to this one... :-(
This is the scenario that I'm modeling. I've made so far almost it all, except by the trees and grass. I still am studing how I'll do it.
Can be seen on this image the full scene with the final camera view that I think I'm gonna use, the door and details and the the torch...
More updates later.
let's work...

ok.... the first composition test...
looking like this i think that my model needs much more modeling... and accesories too that I still will model.
Anyway!!... some textures update on the scenario..
that's it!

you might want to add some details on the muscle structure of the character and do some serious texturing on his skin... is he supposed to have fur added later on?
nice ideea and great drawing

some more details like grass and other stuff.
the modeling from the character will have updates, I decided.. i think it's a little poor like this.

Really nice shadows on the grass...might want to varry individual grass blade colors a bit, likewise for clumps of grasses in different areas of the scene. The feet to your dog character are a bit poly faceted, might want to smooth them?

I kind of agree with an earlier post about putting some hair on this character -- if -- you could still maintain the stomach muscles, and general shape, with perhaps very short hair? Looking forward to seeing more -- hope you have the time to continue! Good luck!

ok, modeling updates as I told.

Now I'm gonna start adding some things in the background..

Hi,

Nice work, concept is nice.

Crits and obs:
Did he droped the sword to pierce the ground? If not make him hold that sword with more energy seems he dropped it.
The character is too big in composition, if I remember rules of this contest, the character should be facing something bigger than him, the journey itself (the challenge) should be the most evident. So making some space around for him would help out.
Will you use some kind of hair on the character? Would look better for this dog like.

No other crits and obs by now, it is really kool ! Keep it up! Good luck!

hey, thanks for the reply!!

You now, I've thinking really about the camera angle...
I don't really know if this will be the final angle and by the way I'll post a test later..
so please note it..

about the sword, he's walking without support his weight on it...
and it will have fur around his body.

that's it
see ya!

I don't think I'll change de angle of the camera anymore... even taking the advices given...
anyway, some trees on the background were added...
